For the Paper Jane exhibit, collectors Mary, Janine and Sandra suggested using a kaleidoscope to represent the myriad colorful versions of Jane Austen's novels reflected through time. Kaleidoscopes were a fad in Regency England. I edited a well-known silhouette of Austen to have her gazing through a kaleidoscope. In the poster and exhibit, each color denoted a timespan of 50 years.  The text in each kaleidoscope section is drawn from her novels, with the fonts evolving from handwritten to modern.
